About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced or new graduate registered nurse to join our Duty Nurse Team, we are a permanent pool of nurses providing nursing cover in a variety of clinical settings at Health New Zealand Wairarapa.
This role will work within Wairarapa Hospital to provide nursing relief cover as directed by the Duty Nurse Manager to various units of Hospital Services (primarily Acute Services, Medical Surgical Ward, Assessment & Rehabilitation and Paediatrics) as required. This may involve working in more than one area within a shift as workloads fluctuate and can also include patient ambulance transfers.
56 hours per fortnight (0.7 FTE) Monday - Sunday rostered and rotating shifts.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Wairarapa Hospital serves a mainly rural population of around 48,800. Wairarapa Hospital has up to 92 beds and provides most secondary services including Acute Services with associated High Dependency Unit, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics, and rehabilitation. The hospital campus includes Selina Sutherland Private Hospital.
About you
You will be either an experienced or new graduate nurse with excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a multi- disciplinary team.
- NZ Registered General and Obstetric or Comprehensive Nurse.
- Hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- New Graduate Nurses, to be eligible to apply for this position you must have applied for the 2025 (NETP) intake and still be remaining on the ACE Talent Pool list.
