Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking for Healthcare Assistant to join our busy and dedicated team at Wairarapa Hospital wanting to make a difference to our patients and their Whanau in Medical Surgical Ward.
If you are an experienced, caring and patient focused and interested in working in MSW we want to hear from you. You will be required to work under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse therefore excellent communication skills are a must.
Your duties will be around assisting Registered Nurses with:
- Providing patients with personal cares
- Keeping the ward and equipment clean, tidy and safely stored
- Storing and restocking supplies
- Directing enquiries and making beds
- Patient watches
We have a permanent part time position available working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE), rostered & rotating including shift work and weekends.

This is a combined ward caring for medical, general surgical, orthopaedic, gynaecology, urology and palliative patients. The ward is looking for a new team member who has enthusiasm, team spirit and a willingness to learn.
