The district nursing team provides nursing care, advice and support to patients and their whanau across various healthcare settings while oncology nurses support patients though their cancer journey.
We are looking to recruit nurses to our casual pool, working 0-80 hours per fortnight, (covering Monday to Sunday) rostered and rotating shifts. These are casual positions working as and when required across the whole of the Wairarapa. Moū - About you
We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurses with a minimum of two years' postgraduate experience, preferably in a community setting. District and oncology nurses work autonomously in the patient's home and dedicated wound clinics, providing assessment and support, developing and reviewing care plans, delivering clinical care and following-up patients requiring ongoing care. You therefore need to be happy to work alone and have strong interpersonal skills, including empathy and understanding for older people and the terminally ill, who are significant consumers of our services. You need to be willing to develop generic skills and to undertake further training relevant to community-based nursing.
Due to the nature of this role, we will require a full Police Check under the Vulnerable Children's Act. This will involve you needing to disclose on your application if you have ever been charged with, or convicted of a criminal offence or been released from prison.
You will be required to work across the Wairarapa, therefore we do require applicants to have a full and valid NZ drivers' licence as well as be contactable via a mobile phone.
To be eligible to apply for this postion you must be a NZ resident or permanent visa holder
