The Speech-language Therapist is an integral part of multidisciplinary team function and in this role you will be working closely with the clinical team to assess and manage acute presentations and longstanding impairments, contribute to discharge planning and provide ongoing intervention to support people to remain as functional as possible in their homes and communities.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

If you have a passion for working with clients to maximise communication and assess / manage swallow impairments across a range of clinical areas (acute medical, rehabilitation and paediatrics) in a secondary hospital setting this is the role you have been waiting for. Our speech-language therapy team is a small, dynamic team that is well supported by the allied health and multidisciplinary teams and has close links with regional and national SLT networks.

Qualifications required

  • You will be registered with the New Zealand Speech Language Therapy Association and hold a current practising certificate
  • Have solid experience across adult and paediatric general health settings.
  • You will be a flexible and enthusiastic clinician, who thrives in a team environment
  • And is focused on delivering the best possible clinical care for clients.

This is a permanent full time position working 80 hours (1.0 FTE) per fortnight Monday - Friday, actual hours of work to be discussed, however we welcome enquiries from those looking for fixed term or part time opportunities as well, please indicate your preference in your cover letter.
